Tiernan is a voracious reader - currently working on a series of books called the Ga'hoole by Kathryn Lansky. Uncle Ed gave him the Bone graphic novels and he loves those - and he can often be found draped across a chair cackling at Calvin and Hobbes. He likes to draw - and play basketball and swim. Going into the fourth grade, he is learning the recorder at school and is involved in the LEGO Club and Chess Club and has been an SCA member for 3 years. Tiernan will be launching his Mutant Toy website soon - Barbie's everywhere - be afraid! Be very afraid.
Griffin is a busy guy - always looking for something to do. He, too, likes basketball - and baseball and soccer and bike riding and running, just for the joy of it. He is a great artist and says if he can't draw, he just goes crazy. He is a second grader in a Spanish Immersion program. Half his day (Language Arts and Social Studies,) his instruction is in English - the other half (Math, Science and Health) his instruction is in Spanish. It is astonishing how much Spanish he knows - sometimes he'll forget and answer me casually in Spanish "Si, mas agua, mama".
Audrey will start Kindergarten at Lake Anne with Griffin this fall - also in their Spanish program. She is very musical - whistling, singing, picking out a tune on the piano, and playing her glockenspiel. She loves dogs and can frequently be found playing Dog World with her extensive dog collection. She also loves going to the Zoo - seeing the baby cheetahs or her favorite sea lion, Maureen. She is very anxious to meet the new baby panda. She likes to bake with me and draw or paint. She's working on riding a two wheeler, pumps the swing like a pro and is just beginning to read. The best sound in the world is her laughing at somethng her brothers said or did - fortunately that happens often!
They all three want a dog more than anything. We are working on Daddy to see if we can make that happen. They adore Grandpa's dogs and we were even lucky enough to babysit Isabel, the clown basset hound. It was quite an experience - but they were responsible and conscientious caregivers. When the time comes they'll be great pet owners! We just have to convince Travis that the time is now!
